The notebooks in this series are covered with silk dyed both with my mother and with techniques I learned from her. The thread with which they are bound is from a spool I found among my grandmother’s sewing supplies when my family packed up her condo in 2020. Combining materials and skills based in the textile arts I learned and shared with my mother and her mother, these notebooks each contain an excerpt from an essay about multigenerational textile practices in my family.
